Welcome to the website of EC Surveyors.

Specialising in residential property Surveys and Valuations within the South Devon area.

In 1997 Ed Chamberlain BSc (Hons) MRICS qualified as a Chartered Surveyor and has lived and worked in South Devon since 1993.   He began to specialise in the residential sector in 1998 having previously worked primarily as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (or Building Cost Consultant) gaining valuable experience in both new build and alteration work.

Whilst he has designed numerous home extensions and new builds, he now focuses on Residential Condition Surveys (in accordance with the RICS Home Survey Standard).  His wide ranging experience enables him to offer informal practical design advice that may be useful as part of the decision making process for a property purchase.

Ed undertakes residential valuations, mainly for private clients, charities and shared ownership/Help to Buy clients.

He also provides Reinstatement Cost Estimates for Buildings Insurance purposes.

Once clients have had chance to read the report, Ed offers a telephone appointment to discuss any key issues.

Much of Ed’s work is generated by recommendations from previous clients and local firms of solicitors who like the reports for their clarity and detail.
